Also called "Ironhead" and "The Man in Black" by fellow drivers, Earnhardt was known for his stubborness and refusal to lose. He would often maneuver his way through tight packs of cars, missing others by inches, or in some cases lightly bumping other drivers to let them know he was there. He was willing to take risks other drivers would not.
